Types of Heaters Explained

There are a wide range of commercial heaters available, each uniquely suited to different settings and environments. A few of the different commercial heaters for sale at SafetyLiftinGear include:

Industrial heaters

Industrial heaters are commonly used to heat large commercial spaces like building sites and warehouses, particularly during the winter months.

Electric convector heaters

Electric convector heaters warm the air via an internal electric element. They heat up quite quickly and disperse heat efficiently, making them super handy for providing heat in spaces without traditional heating. Typically, convection heaters use the natural convection of air moving without the assistance of a fan, which means the warm air doesn’t travel as far as it does with a fan heater, making convector heaters better suited for smaller spaces.

Fan heaters

Industrial fan heaters work by converting electrical energy into heat through a heating coil, then air is moved over the coil using a fan and pushed out into the room. These fans can be static or portable and some will also come with a cold air option. Smaller domestic fan heaters are well suited for those looking to heat a single room rather than a whole house. Industrial fan heaters are more powerful and are capable of heating larger spaces like workshops or garages.

Infrared heaters

Infrared heaters use infrared light to heat things directly in front of them. Infrared light isn't visible to the human eye but it gets absorbed by our skin and other objects which is how we feel warmth from them. These heaters can be powered by propane, natural gas or electricity. Infrared heaters are typically wall mounted, but are also available with floor stands for use in open spaces. Plus, since infrared heaters work via heat waves rather than circulating hot air like fans, they are a great commercial heater option for dusty spaces as they don’t kick up dust!
