Here at Safety Liftin Gear, we strive to accommodate all of our customers no matter their requirements. Our air-powered hoists are available to buy or hire, so regardless of whether you need a hoist for short- or long-term use, we can help you.
How Do Air Hoists Work?
Air hoists (also known as pneumatic hoists) work by using compressed air to lift and lower loads. A compressor powers the hoist and feeds air through a hose into an air bladder. Then, either a pendant control or a pull cord allows the operator to move the hoist while remaining a safe distance away. The operator can then simply press a button to raise or lower the load.
Because pneumatic hoists are powered by a compressed air feed, they have a 100% duty cycle, meaning they can remain in constant use for as long as necessary. Safe working load (SWL) ranges from 250kg to several tonnes – be sure to check the weight capacity of your chosen air hoist before you proceed to the checkout.
Why Choose Air Hoists?
- Air hoists can be used in hazardous environments, e.g. areas with flammable materials or no electricity.
- Air hoists have a 100% duty cycle, meaning they can be used continuously.
- The operator can adjust the speed of the air hoist.
- Air hoists are lighter than electric hoists, making them easier to transport.
