- A bosun's chair is a suspended seat that's used to support and position a person while they work at height. These seats are commonly used for tasks such as window cleaning, maintenance and construction.
- What does 'bosun' mean?
- 'Bosun' is an alternate spelling of 'boatswain' that more accurately conveys how the word is pronounced. On a ship, the boatswain is responsible for managing and supervising the members of the crew who work on deck. Bosun's chairs were originaly designed for maritime work, but they're also useful for window cleaners and all sorts of other workers who operate at height.
