Deputy Depot Manager

As the Deputy Depot Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Depot Manager in the efficient and effective operation of the branch. You will be instrumental in leading the team, ensuring smooth daily operations, and contributing to a customer-focused and safety-conscious environment that supports revenue and profit growth.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in Team Leadership & Performance: Support the Depot Manager in leading and developing the depot team, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently and fostering a collaborative work environment.

· Support Sales & Customer Service: Work with the hire desk team to encourage a sales-focused approach and ensure a high level of customer service.

· Facilitate Effective Communication: Assist in maintaining clear communication within the team and with customers.

· Support Performance Management & Attendance: Assist the Depot Manager in addressing performance matters and monitoring team attendance.

· Oversee Specific Equipment & Maintenance Areas: Take ownership of specific aspects of equipment quality control, routine checks, and depot maintenance as delegated by the Depot Manager.

· Promote Health & Safety: Actively promote and ensure adherence to Health and Safety regulations within the depot.

· Support Vehicle Management: Assist in the maintenance and servicing of the vehicle fleet as required.

· Contribute to Profitability: Support the implementation of sales plans and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.

· Manage Specific Inventory Areas: Take responsibility for specific aspects of stock availability and off-hire equipment checks as delegated.

· Foster Teamwork: Encourage cooperation and a positive team spirit within the depot.

· Maintain Housekeeping Standards: Ensure assigned areas of the depot maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation.

· Learn and Share Best Practices: Collaborate with the Depot Manager and other team members to learn and contribute to best practice sharing.

Industry knowledge would be advantageous

Sales & Hire Representative

As a Sales and Hire Representative, you will be a key point of contact for our customers, responsible for both promoting and selling our offerings and managing the efficient hire or rental of our equipment/goods. Your focus will be on understanding customer needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring a smooth and positive experience whether they are purchasing or hiring from us.

Key Responsibilities:

· Proactive Sales Engagement: Engage with customers to understand their requirements and actively promote and sell relevant products or services.

· Hire/Rental Management: Guide customers through the hire/rental process, explaining terms, availability, and ensuring accurate agreements are completed.

· Customer Needs Assessment: Effectively question customers to identify their specific needs for both purchase and hire/rental, offering the most suitable solutions.

· Product/Service & Hire Fleet Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of our product/service offerings and the available hire/rental fleet, including features, benefits, and pricing.

· Quotation and Order Processing: Prepare accurate sales quotations and hire agreements, processing orders efficiently and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.

· Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales and hire process, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

· Building Customer Relationships: Develop positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and build loyalty for both sales and hire.

· Inventory Awareness (Hire Focused): Monitor the availability of the hire fleet, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure equipment is ready for hire and returned efficiently.

· Sales Target Achievement: Work towards and achieve individual and team sales targets.

· Cross-selling and Up-selling: Identify opportunities to recommend additional products or services during both sales and hire interactions.

· Payment Processing: Handle payments accurately and efficiently according to company procedures.

· Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sales, hires, and customer interactions.

· Adherence to Procedures: Follow all company policies and procedures related to sales, hire, and customer service.

Previous Hire experience in a similar industry (Tool hire etc.) would be advantageous

LEEA qualification desirable
