Questions, answered

Common questions about LiftinGear chain blocks

What weight capacities do LiftinGear chain blocks cover?

LiftinGear manual chain blocks range from 250kg up to 30 tonnes capacity, with height-of-lift options from 3m up to 30m depending on the model.

Can I get a chain block with a custom lift height?

Yes. If the standard height-of-lift options don't match your job, tell us the capacity, height of lift and application and we'll quote a custom-length build.

What's the difference between a single-fall and multi-fall chain block?

A single-fall chain block runs the load chain directly from hook to hook, giving a faster lift speed for a given capacity. A multi-fall (double or triple-fall) chain block reeves the load chain through additional sheaves, increasing the mechanical advantage so heavier loads can be lifted with the same hand-chain effort, at the cost of a slower lift speed and more chain paid out per metre lifted.

Can LiftinGear chain blocks be hired instead of bought?

Yes. LiftinGear chain blocks are available to hire for short-term jobs or extra capacity, without buying outright.

Do chain blocks need regular inspection?

Yes. Like all lifting equipment, chain blocks should be inspected, serviced and recertified periodically to stay compliant. We offer inspection, servicing, testing and certification to keep your equipment in service.
