Here at SafetyLiftinGear, we recently had the pleasure of supplying some equipment to Colchester Zoo for use in their Southern White Rhino facility.
Colchester Zoo runs a successful Southern White Rhino breeding program, with seven calves born since 2009, so these endangered beasts and their carers were long overdue some home renovations!
We supplied a number of Tiger 2tonne Corrosion Resistant Beam Trolleys to the zoo, which were then installed to help open and close the heavy metal gates that keep the Rhinos inside their indoor pen.
With some Southern White Rhinos weighing up to 3 tonnes, these beam trolleys needed to be ultra-strong and durable enough to withstand the daily rigours of a Rhino enclosure. These Tiger 2tonne trolleys are protected by an OCP (Organic Compound Protection) finish which gives them unprecedented long-term reliability.
Plus, our corrosion resistant trolleys are finished in a high-quality white Akzo Nobel powder coat paint which offers excellent additional corrosion protection and a high degree of impact protection – just what you need in a Rhino enclosure!
