What is PPE?

PPE stands for ‘Personal Protective Equipment’, and this term can essentially refer to anything that you wear to protect yourself in hazardous conditions. Here are some examples from our own PPE equipment section:

Hardhats

Perhaps the most common form of PPE, hardhats are worn by workers in all areas of the construction industry. Many sites operate a ‘no hat, no job’ policy.

Dust Masks & Respirators

Many jobs expose workers to dangerous fumes and/or airborne debris that should not be breathed in. Our PPE range includes a wide variety of dust masks, respirators, and other items that protect against these hazards.

Ear Defenders

If you’ve ever worked with – or even been around – a pneumatic drill, you’ll know how painfully loud they can be. When working with loud machinery, it’s essential to wear appropriate ear protection.

There are all kinds of working conditions that require high-visibility clothing, including roads, railways, airports, and so forth.

This is just a small sample of what you’ll find in our PPE section; as previously mentioned, this term covers just about anything you wear to improve your personal safety, and so there are dozens of different items for all kinds of industries.
