As our name suggests, we at SafetyLiftinGear have a great reputation for top-quality lifting gear, and we get a huge number of enquiries every day from professionals seeking robust, reliable lifting equipment for their projects.

The thing is, a lot of those customers aren't interesting in purchasing our products outright; instead, they're simply looking to hire the lifting gear required for the task at hand. We are more than happy to accommodate these orders, and as you browse our Lifting Equipment department, you'll notice that almost all of the products contained therein are available to hire as well as to buy.

Here are some examples of the lifting gear we hire to our customers:

Polyester Lifting Slings

High-endurance slings for a variety of heavy lifting jobs. We supply both round slings (weight load limits range from 1 tonne to 50 tonnes) and webbing slings (1 tonne to 20 tonnes).

Chain Slings

Our heavy-duty chain slings come in 1 leg, 2 leg and 4 leg versions. Hooks are included.

Wire Rope Hoists

These electric hoists are ideal for a wide assortment of lifting and rigging jobs. We offer both 110V and 240V hoists to suit your requirements, as well as our award-winning battery-powered hoist.

Chain Blocks & Lever Hoists

Alternatively, if you're looking for a hoist that doesn't run on electricity, we strongly recommend our Elephant Hoists range. Made in Japan, these ultra-strong hoists are capable of lifting weights of up to 5 tonnes (please note that weight load limit varies between products).

Need Bespoke Lifting Equipment? We Can Help!

Perhaps the single most important thing to bear in mind when you're shopping for lifting equipment is that each and every product has its own WLL (Weight Load Limit). Whether you're purchasing a chain sling, an electric hoist, or some other form of lifting gear, it's absolutely crucial to check the WLL, as this tells you the maximum weight you'll safely be able to lift using the item in question. If you need to transport a load weighing 5 tonnes, each piece of lifting equipment that you use to do so must have a weight load limit of AT LEAST 5 tonnes. Exceeding the WLL of your lifting gear may cause it fail, which can obviously cause a lot of damage.

But what if I can't find any lifting equipment with a high enough weight load limit?

If you're planning to lift a particularly heavy load, you may struggle to find equipment that's capable of safely supporting that much weight. Those who visit our 4 Leg Chain Sling department, for example, may initially think we only provide slings for weights of up to 17 tonnes.

But 17 tonnes is merely the highest weight load limit available in our standard range. We're actually capable of supplying chain slings (and many other lifting products) that are suitable for much heavier loads - it's just that these products are made-to-order, so you'll have to get in touch with us directly.

If your project is too big for our standard range of lifting gear, we encourage you to contact us and discuss your requirements with a member of the SafetyLiftinGear team. We have providing lifting equipment for a huge variety of large and/or unusual briefs in the past, and we'd be more than happy to provide a bespoke solution to suit your needs.

New Products: More Ergodyne Work Gear

A few weeks back, we introduced you to our new range of tool lanyards from Ergodyne, a Minnesota company renowned for their "tenacious work gear". These lanyards proved very popular indeed, and so it gives us great pleasure to announce that we've just added a whole range of additional Ergodyne products to our Height Safety department!

Here's a quick run-down of our newest additions:

Tie hooks. These are available in small, medium, and large sizes, as well as in a 'double belt' format (medium or large). Ergodyne tie hooks are ideal for storing and organising cables, hoses and cords, as seen in this video:

Tool Tails™. If you're looking for an easy way to attach your tools to your belt whilst working, Tool Tails™ are perfect for the job. They can be used to attach a wide variety of tools and other items; choose from our elastic loop Tool Tails™ and our ultra-strength web Tool Tails™.
Cold shrink traps. Ergodyne's cold shrink traps should be used alongside the Tool Tails™ to trap the tail and keep it secure while in use. If you'd like to see how the cold shrink traps work, watch this video:
