SafetyLiftinGear have recently expanded their stock to include a wide range of premium galvanised turnbuckles!

Turnbuckles are great tools for tension-related purposes, such as increasing or decreasing the tension in a rope or cable.

Our selection of turnbuckles are all made from galvanised steel (steel hot-dipped into zinc) to prevent rusting and ensure longevity. All of our galvanised turnbuckles have been designed by professionals to stand the test of time and perform unwaveringly under heavy use.

We offer a wide selection of different galvanised turnbuckles suited to different environments and uses. Our range of galvanised turnbuckles have eyes/jaws of varying dimensions, so whatever your requirements are, we have a turnbuckle for you!

The best way to store ratchet straps is to carefully wrap each one, following the instructions below. This keeps them clean, ordered, and can reduce tangles/damage.

Storing your ratchet straps improperly can cause rapid wear and tear, so it's worth taking the time to care for them and make sure they're stored correctly. If your strap sustains damage because it was kept in the wrong place, it could snap or fail during use, which may cause a potentially fatal accident.

Hoists with unlimited rope length are fantastic tools to have to hand when faced with the task of moving and lifting loads. Electric wire rope hoists in particular allow loads to be lifted at a faster pace and in a smoother motion than manual hoists, plus a lot less effort.

Wire Rope Hoists with unlimited rope length have so many benefits – most notably, they can be used to lift loads to almost any height. They are incredibly diverse and flexible, and can be used to lift any load within its working load limit (WLL). This diversity allows them to be used in a wide range of different environments, such as elevators, lift shafts, restoration, and construction.

The electric wire rope hoists with unlimited rope length available from SafetyLiftinGear are also lightweight and easy to transport, allowing you to move them to various sites easily and without hassle.

Using a ratchet strap to secure heavy loads is a great way to prevent accidents and keep goods safe in transit.

Of course, you must ensure that your load is properly secured before you set off - and in order to do that, you will need to know the proper way to use a ratchet strap.

A round sling (sometimes called a crane sling or hoisting strap) is a versatile piece of lifting equipment that can be used to lift, transport and manoeuvre a variety of different loads.

The working load limit (WLL) of a round sling can be anywhere from 1 tonne to 100+ tonnes, so before you undertake any heavy lifting, it's important to make sure your round slings are up to the job.

Fortunately, it's easy to check whether you've selected the right sling for the task at hand.

Colour Coded Round Slings

If you've been browsing round slings, you may have noticed that they are available in a range of different colours. Each colour denotes a different working load limit (WLL).

These colours make it quick and easy to identify which round sling you need for a given job. It also allows anyone to see, even in the middle of a task, what type of lifting equipment is being used.

We at Safety Liftin Gear have put together this handy round sling chart to help you quickly identify the lifting capacities of a round sling based on its colour:

As you can see from the round sling chart above, there are a number of different colours assigned to slings with different maximum weights. Orange round slings can handle anything from 10 tonnes to 30 tonnes, depending on the chosen strength.

The WLL can also vary depending on how the round sling is utilised. Using a basket lift can increase the sling's WLL, whereas using a choke lift can decrease it.

If you need to buy or hire lifting slings, Safety Liftin Gear supply heavy-duty polyester round slings in a wide range of working load limits.
